Coole Bevis LLP strengthen their specialist national Residential Leasehold Department with the appointment of Adam Davis, Partner and Anna Davis, Solicitor.
Adam joined the firm as a Partner in December 2023 having previously headed up a successful leasehold team at a boutique central London firm. Anna Davis joined the team in January 2024 following the successful completion of her training contract with the firm, where she gained experience in this area of law.
Since qualifying in 2017, Adam has specialised in the niche area of Leasehold Enfranchisement and brings a wealth of experience representing both landlord and tenant clients in all areas of enfranchisement.
Prior to private practice, Adam worked in the public sector for the Legal Aid Agency (formerly the Legal Services Commission) as a procurement specialist, where he developed and implemented the tendering framework for a number of high value public sector contracts.
Adam and Anna join an established team at Coole Bevis LLP which is headed by Jonathan Everett, Partner, who has specialised in advising on leasehold enfranchisement and leasehold disputes for over 25 years. The Department advise freehold landlords, leaseholders and Right to Manage (RTM) and Resident Management companies.
Adam commented, “I am excited to work with Jonathan and utilise the knowledge, experience and relationships I have gained over the last seven years. This knowledge, coupled with my commercial background in legal procurement and the robust relationships I’ve built with fellow leasehold experts, including specialist valuers and counsel, all enable me to achieve the most commercially sound and risk-averse results for my clients. This network also affords me a very informed and pragmatic take on the ever-changing legislative landscape of this area of law, which I incorporate into my advice and wider client care.”
Jonathan said, “I am delighted to welcome Adam and Anna to the Residential Leasehold Department and as we begin 2024 am very positive about the future of the team. Adam and Anna’s arrival further strengthens the experience and knowledge that has been built up over many years and will enable us to grow our offering.”
“Recent legislative changes including the Building Safety Act 2022 and The Leasehold Reform Act (Ground Rent) Act 2022 together with other proposed reforms have created a great deal of uncertainty for block managing agents, landlords and tenants. I am very proud that Coole Bevis LLP have a specialist team that can offer advice in this highly specialist and increasingly complex area of law.”
