Former Savills Director, Trevor Adey has launched a new property management business specialising in estate and block management across the North of England.
Focusing on challenging the existing approach to property management, Placekeeper is a managing agent commited to delivering residential management services which deliver better places for the residents and communities that use them.
Utilising experience across the housing, development and planning sectors, after 20 years at Savills and other leading consultancies, Adey then spent six years at national open space charity the Land Trust, where he was responsible for establishing service charge funded estate management schemes on large scale urban extensions and garden villages throughout the country.
Speaking about the new venture, Adey said:
‘There is widespread evidence that homeowers suffer a lot from poor service and disproportionate pricing in the estate and block management sector. At Placekeeper, we believe there is a huge market opportunity for us to come in and deliver a great quality, ethical and trusted service for homeowners and developers.
‘Through my 25 year career in property I’ve worked with an array of talented placemakers, adept at creating a vision for and delivering some great places. It has long been a frustration of mine though to see some of these developments neglected after completion through poor stewardship. Placekeeping for us is about ending the traditional pattern where developments only look amazing until the final plot is sold. Instead, we’ll be injecting a bit of pride, care and working hard with our resident customers to improve the places we manage over time.
‘We are already looking after a number of existing housing estates and apartment schemes where residents have chosen us to replace their previous managing agents, and we are pleased to be working closely with a number of developers on new opportunities for 2025.’
