A stunning development of 150 apartments at the famous Joseph Lucas building in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter is to be looked after by residential property management company MetroPM.
MetroPM has been appointed to manage the units at New Hampton Lofts, part of the converted former car parts factory on Great Hampton Street.
The Grade II-listed building forms three and a half sides of a quadrangle around a central piazza that is within walking distance to St Pauls Square and Birmingham city centre.
Faraz Ahmed, associate director at MetroPM, explained that the conversion was completed by developers Persimmon Homes in around 2001-02.
Mr Ahmed said: “We are delighted to have been appointed to look after this stunning development by resident directors of the management company.
“As part of the conversion from the original Lucas factory, the property has retained its own substation and all power for the building is supplied from there, which we will also be managing.
“This involves quite complex billing arrangements, but MetroPM is well-versed in dealing with such matters and are able to quickly adapt to what is needed.
“We held weekly meetings in advance with directors of the management company to assist with the handover of the management, which includes a large, secure car park.
“We will now be working closely with directors and residents to make sure these wonderful properties are well looked after in the years to come.”
