NEW SHARED OWNERSHIP HOMES LAUNCH IN WHETSTONE

Leading shared ownership provider SO Resi recently launched its latest development in the capital, SO Resi Whetstone, comprising 17 one and two-bedroom apartments.

With the average first time buyer deposit in London now a staggering £125,000 according to research from Halifax, SO Resi Whetstone will offer a more accessible route to homeownership, with the new homes exclusively available to purchase through shared ownership.

All homes have been designed with flexible living in mind, featuring open-plan kitchen, living and dining spaces, integrated appliances and a washer/dryer. A high specification is included as standard, with features such as Amtico flooring, chrome LED spotlights, and soft carpets to all bedrooms. Each apartment boasts its own spacious balcony, providing access to much-coveted outdoor space.

The apartments are built around an attractive, landscaped central courtyard with seating, offering plenty of spaces to unwind outside. Sustainable methods of transport are encouraged, with secure, separate cycle storage for every home, whilst selected apartments include a parking space.

Kevin Sims, Director of Sales at SO Resi, comments: “The average cost of a first time buyer deposit in London continues to rise, so it is little surprise that many young people feel priced out of buying a home in the capital. Shared ownership is becoming an increasingly attractive prospect for buyers, thanks to its flexibility and low five per cent deposit requirement. At SO Resi Whetstone, a deposit starts from just £5,000, which is a far more achievable goal for many aspirational first time buyers.

“Whetstone is an appealing location for young people, thanks to its fantastic amenities, excellent connections and most importantly, a more accessible price point when compared to other London postcodes. We have seen strong demand for new homes here already, as first time buyers look to escape the rental trap and get onto the property ladder.”

SO Resi Whetstone is conveniently located a short walk from High Road, with its rich café culture, independent shops and foodie pubs. There are also a number of restaurants and cocktail bars, alongside high street names including M&S and Waitrose stores.

There is an abundance of green open spaces and large parks, including Brooks Farm, alongside Whetstone’s outstanding swim school and live entertainment at the Chickenshed Theatre. For families, there is a wide choice of multifaith schools, both secondary and primary.

The development is well connected, with Totteridge & Whetstone Underground Station and Oakleigh Park Station within walking distance, from which residents can reach Moorgate, Euston and King’s Cross all in less than half an hour. For travel by car, the M1 and M25 are within five miles of SO Resi Whetstone.

SO Resi Whetstone offers a collection of 17 one and two-bedroom apartments available through shared ownership, with prices starting from £100,000 for a 25% share in a one-bedroom home [full market value: £400,000]. Prospective buyers are invited to book an appointment at SO Resi’s upcoming off-plan sales event at the development on Saturday 25th March, where they can find out more about shared ownership and the new homes available.
