Whitley Stimpson shortlisted for major national award

Accountancy specialist firm Whitley Stimpson has been shortlisted for a top property industry award.

The company, with offices in Banbury, Bicester, High Wycombe and Witney, made the cut in the Service Charge Accountancy Firm of the Year category of the 2023 ACE awards organised by the Association of Residential Managing Agents (ARMA).

The awards, which are aimed at companies achieving best practice in their field, attracted a record number of entries this year with judges describing the quality of submissions as ‘outstanding.’

The category covers accountancy firms that are ARMA partners and have made a significant contribution to the efficiency and overall performance of members in the last year, for example through client education and staff training and development.

Whitley Stimpson acts for more than 500 separate blocks of flats throughout England, providing expert advice on all aspects of service charge accounting to property managing agents, landlords, residential management companies and tenants.

This covers everything from accounts preparation to setting budgets and establishing procedures to comply with the lease ensuring that resident management companies and right to keep fully up to date with any new service charge accounting requirements.

The firm has also undertaken investigative work where tenants have concerns over their property’s leasehold accounts with its experts regularly speaking at industry events covering areas such as VAT intricacies, common accounting mistakes and latest developments.
